At long last the Kohan games are available for purchase directly from TimeGate! Head on over to their store and snag some classics. Try entering the code "iibmqtxio" for a 10% discount...if you are one of the first 100 people to buy something the code should work.
Inspired by the KOWLauncher, I created K2MonkeyMod - a Kohan II: Kings of War launcher that makes "monkeying" around with K2 Mods simple and easy, even if you are running Vista or Win7!
There are a few features that I hope will make launching Mods more enjoyable:
- K2MonkeyMod will restore your Kohan2\Data folder to the condition it was in before you launched any Mods.
- No setup or install required - just launch it from a folder that contains a Mod folder filled with your favorite mods.
- The "No Mods" option will strip away all Mods.
- Works with XP, Vista, and Windows 7
Please give this first version a try and give me some feedback. It works well with all the Mods I tested, including the new Arcane Wars mod. K2MonkeyMod requires .Net platform 2.0.
K2MonkeyMod.zip is in the downloads section here - go get it!
Only missing features from previously mentioned are catapult bombard ability and harmful terrain instead there are for now handicapping terrains giving penalty to morale, resistances etc.(well one kind of harmful terrain is included its "meadow" terrain type generated in small spots on midlands and cursed land terrain type it damages shadow and undead units but heals other nations units when not in combat)
Have Fun and please remember that this is first version. -Darquan

I started a case with nVidia back in November 2009 to get them to look into the missing textures when KAG is running. They had me try quite a few solutions that did not work. Finally they sent me to upper level tech support. Two months went by without a reply and then they asked me to try the 196.34 beta drivers. To my surprise, KAG worked perfectly! The link below will take you to the selection page for the drivers. Make sure to select the "beta" drivers in the last drop down box before you hit the search button.
I happened to walk into a Five Below store yesterday and was surprised to find a few copies of TimeGate's FEAR Perseus Mandate for $5. So, if you have one of these stores near you and are interested it might be worth checking out. They even had a couple of copies of Master of Orion 3! I haven't seen that in like...forever!
