What is the AI League?

Quitch's KoW AI League pits AI against AI in one on one battles.  Each AI plays every other AI once and those results determine the final standings.  AI's used were made by the programmers at TimeGate Studios as well as custom AI made by players of the game.

Why an AI League?  Well, to see which AI are the best and most consistently challenging, of course!

When multiple AI have the same record, how did you determine their final ranking?

If A and B have the same win/loss record, then the results of those AI against the higher ranked AI are examined.

If A, B, and C are tied and A beat B, B beat C, and C beat A then the overall/minute determines the order of all AI's which cannot be resolved via the first method.  See Gwendolyn120, Ilyana and Mourn101 for an example of this.

Where can I find Quitch's original data in spreadsheet form?
Quitch's Data can be found on Google Docs.
The raw data is publicly available for those who may wish to use the data in ways static HTML doesn't allow for (and also so it can be seen that automated checking for mistakes existed).

How is it that Cilji115 won no games at all?

From [VR]IronMass: Cilji115 was designed as part of a team strategy. Cilji will try to go where the enemy isn't and constantly raid and clear new settles, which works out well in team games since the teammates handle defense and stuff, but is the total opposite of what you want to do 1vs1. This avoidance and raiding policy is probably why Cilji didn't win any games...not really a 1vs1er.

Hey, my favorite AI didn't do as well as I expected.  Why?

From [VR]IronMass: Some SAIs were designed specifically to provide the maximum challenge on Impossible and their builds may not be optimized for medium difficulty.

So why wasn't the league set at Impossible?  Realistically, most players (i.e. not the hardcore KoW players) don't play on Impossible level so the medium setting gives them a more useful idea of how the various AI will play at their setting.
